Great episode, as usual.

One of my hopes and dreams for 2023 is the creation of a full GUI front end for NixOS so a beginner (like me) can use the GUI to easily create (and modify) a full NixOS configuration for a simple standalone Linux setup.

In my case it would be Ubuntu, Gnome, Wayland and the usual apps: Firefox, Inkscape, LibreOffice, Timeshift, VLC, SyncThing, Audacity, FreeFileSync, Shotwell, Flameshot, etc. Nothing fancy and no dev tools and no container stuff. The GUI would make it easy to add and remove apps as needed.
